The multi-talented Si Begg’s Novamute release sees him dabbling in a colourful array of genres, revealing his versatility of production. More than half the tracks on ‘Director’s Cut’ are in the same breakbeat techno vein that he established, but with a deep underpinning of electro-funk. ‘Colour’ is a quirky RnB number whereas in ‘Buss’ Si experiments with a bit of mutated 2-step garage.
