Rising talent Daniel Avery takes his place on Throne of Blood with three tracks of snapping heads-down house, along with a remix from a certain Andrew Weatherall. Opening track ‘Light into Dark’ bubbles with crisscrossing bass pulse patterns and synths cast with metallic tones. ‘Flashlights’ is more hypnotic yet, a sultry slow mover built with delicate arpeggios and melodic flashes. Weatherall’s take on ‘Movement’ no doubt surprises with his own inimitable wave of hand, cranking down the tempo rearranging the elements for the definition of a true remix.
