Don’t be fooled, Carl Davis is in fact a certain Carl Craig, proving his prolific worth with six tracks of analogue house and techno, each staking their claim on his ‘Sketches’ project. ‘Sketches Pt. 1’ begins with some instant addictive swing and soon settles in to the kind of funk-driven techno that the Planet E boss does like no other. Elsewhere there’s more no messin’ heavy-weight programming, swinging ghetto-techno and tough raw beat workouts. Killer stuff.
