Chromatics’ first album since Night Drive is a scintillating synth-pop voyage. Picture perfect pop comes in the form of the title-track, ‘Kill for Love’, a slowly imploding star-gazer with Ruth Radelet’s vocals taking on a particularly melancholy air of isolation. Across the rest of the album we hear a pop deconstruction of Neil Young’s ‘Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)’, the haunting eulogy of ‘Broken Mirrors’ and the pounding urgency of ‘These Streets Will Never Look the Same’. A fully recommended release.
