Night Slugs are back with an absolute head-wrecker from Girl Unit, the man behind ‘Wut’ and ‘I.R.L.’. In case you've forgotten how good that last record from him was, you’re in for a double surprise with ‘Club Rez’. ‘Ensemble’ takes the lead from a brutally deep bass into a funky boogiedown instrumental and then back again. ‘Cake Boss’ switches things up a level or two with absolutely twisted drum programming, ‘Plaza’ works a sci-fi Detroit electro vibe, whilst ‘Double Take’ is a bone-crushing beat-heavy dance floor track and finally ‘Club Rez’ delivers a brittle, crackling arpeggio and those same hands-in-the-air synths that made ‘Wut’ such a killer.
