The inaugural release on Mute’s new Liberation Technologies imprint comes from King Felix, better known as the constantly evolving electronic artist, Laurel Halo. ‘Spring EP’ takes her confident experiments with sound to unfamiliar levels, a new position that sits atop of 90s IDM, Detroit inspired themes (no doubt induced from her Ann Arbor hometown) and more intricate patterns of machine manipulation, ranging from the ambient, to the hyperactive, in footwork inspired movements.
