‘Rhythm Section/Inquisition’ finds party-heater Lando Kal in more of a pensive mood than usual. Moody and made for the night-owls, quick, shuffling drums weave around with ominous energy. On the flipside, things get even darker with the starkest stuff we’re yet to hear from Mr. Kal. However, his attempt at techno still has that unmistakeable funk and bump – elements clang and clatter with steely depth, yet sleazy vocal samples and a funky bass line keeps you dancing. His best stuff yet.
