There can be many similarities drawn between Sofie's debut LP and some of the work from artists she helped sign to label while working there - a few of the tracks share particular similarities with MNDSGN for example. The MOR rock sheen which hangs over much of Cult Survivor has been heard increasingly on Stones Throw drops in recent years. However, the LP ultimately feels like an outlier due to Sofie's idiosyncratic lyrics, lackadaisical vocal delivery and penchant for kitsch retro styles leaning towards glam-rock.
