Los Angeles based beatsmith Mndsgn drops his second album for hip-hop heavyweights Stones Throw. Blending boogie funk, r&b and smooth jazz he uses his warped and processed vocals to great effect on the majority of the tracks here, adding an even more personable touch to already quite warm and inviting sound collages. We’re big fans of the 80’s West Coast boogie scene, and we know Stones Throw mainstay Dam Funk is too. It’s great to see more of the sound incorporated into the contemporary hip-hop that the label is pushing at the minute!
