Palenque, a spot near the Caribbean coast of Colombia, is a centre for Afro-Colombian culture. The first free slave communities of the Americas were established here and for all its historical importance, it has become a unique point-of-call for its distinctive style of music. Heavily percussive and steeped in equal parts of both African and Latin flavour, the sounds of the region come presented alongside remixes from the likes of Matias Aguayo, Osunlade, Secondo, Jay Haze and Deadbeat.
