Abracadabra, Jerry Paper’s second LP for Stones Throw, is very much an album of the post-Mac Demarco age. These charming bedroom-pop ditties coast along with the breezy warmth that characterises so much of Demarco’s best work. Paper goes a little heavier on both the jazz and soul influences - there’s a hint of BADBADNOTGOOD and Homeshake in the instrumentals - and Abracadabra’s cover also hints at a sort of Tim And Eric-esque surreal streak.
