Morgan Geist returns to the Environ label with an approximate sequel to his beloved 2001 EP Super with a new running mate naturally entitled DUPER. Working once again with long-time collaborator Kelley Polar, the sessions for DUPER initially sprung from an entirely different band. Polar adds weep-y disco strings to the A side’s peppy ‘Twilight Express’, recalling the revivalist vibe of Super, while the B side’s ‘Feeling Is Mutual’ dips a little acid into Geist’s signature mid-tempo chug to killer effect.
