Jan Jelinek drafts in a new recording alias, this time presenting his adept production skills by way of Gesellschaft Zur Emanzipation Des Samples. An audio collage of sorts, 'Circulations' hears field recordings of classic pop songs played through the PA of fairground carousels and amidst the thick fuzz of a dynamic chattering crowd. Broken and abstract in form, the samples invites the listener to think about the way we ingest music and to lend a keener ear to the music that soundtracks our frivolities. Concept aside, it's an eerie and enticing piece of work that reminds us just how great Jelinek is.
