Jodey Kendrick made a name for himself in the early 2010s off a string of 12”s that pulled the already overactive braindance sound apart like putty. However, Kendrick reaches for something a little more static on his debut for the Repetitive Rhythm Research imprint, making for some of the most danceable material of his career thus far. Things kick off briskly with the slamming techno of the title track before slowing down into woozy dirge on ‘Malfunction All Levels.’ The ghostly reverberated noises on ‘The Metal Planet’ add a bit of danger to the EP’s other floorfiller, sounding like old machinery ping ponging off a rubbery, insistent kick.
