The Minimal Wave imprint specialises in releasing - who would have guessed? - minimal synth and new wave electronics, often from bygone eras. The label’s latest drop is Sympathy Nervous’ Automaticism, an odds-and-sods collection of tracks laid down by the Japanese act between 1979 and 1981. Part of the reason behind Automaticism’s release is to benefit founding member Yosihumi Niinuma after he lost his home and many of his possessions in the 2011 Japanese tsunami. Even if that weren’t the case, mind, these tracks would be worthy of release. This is high-grade electronic post-punk.
