Locked in the studio together, established UK techno duo, James Ruskin and Mark Broom, have been collectively honing their production skills together over a series of single releases on Blueprint. The Fear Ratio, however, takes a detour from the more pummeling strain of techno that you would normally associate, in favour of more melodically sculptured tracks. Brittle, post-IDM themes jostle in between pulsating, fragile, chasm-deep techno and clipped, abstract house moments. An impressive body of work, embodying the more forward thinking ideas of machine-music.
