South London’s Decius follow up a string of beloved outsider acid house 12”s with their first full length entitled Decius Vol. 1. The foursome that make up Decius combine interested parties from the indie rock world (the brothers May of Trashmouth Records fame and Fat White Family leader Lias Saoudi) with a legitimate underground hero in Paranoid London to fine effect, pairing the inherent grubbiness of the former with the deft production of the latter. Tracks like ‘Look Like A Man’ and ‘Come To Me Villa’ drip with an almost wicked sexual energy, filled with whispered vocals and buoyed by mid-tempo kicks and sharp synth basslines that land with force on headphones and will surely sound even better in a dark and dank basement club.
