Four years on from his last LP, Steve Hyland comes back to the Attraktta name for an album of lusciously and lovingly sequenced electronica tunes. Running the gamut from moody electro beats with emphatic basslines to soft techno jams strolling in the fresh air, Pleasure System “draws on the isolation of modern life” with stellar results. Metallic synths decay in ‘Afterimage’, contrasting against brighter, dazzling stabs. ‘People Fall Away’ is a highlight in particular, an extended and uplifting dance cut with woozy tones and a shimmering breakdown.
