UK techno producer Ibrahim Alfa Jnr makes his debut on the MIlle Plateaux label with a new full length that distils the powerful energy of his much lauded DJ sets into a fully realised statement of purpose. The opening ‘TQSM’ folds drum and bass into the mix as Alfa smashes a mangled amen break around ambient synth swirls and other woozy bell-like sounds. Other tracks like the alien half-time electro of ‘ZQQN’ and the glitch-y, rhythmically unstable ‘LSYY’ leave the dancefloor behind in search of a different kind of zone entirely.
