Kwes Darko, AKA Blue Daisy finally launches himself into long player territory with his debut album, 'The Sunday Gift', out on his continued label of choice, Bristol's Black Acre, which has played host to every one of his releases to date. Darko surprises with a touching collection of sample-based, trip-hop influenced flourishes, nebulous in its arrangement and fully immersive and emotive in its impact. We're particularly drawn to 'Fallin' and its reverb laden vocals supplied by Cinematic Orchestra's Heidi Vogel - a track of immense compassion and soul.
