Here are two previously unreleased recordings of live performances by Peter Rehberg (RIP) at the GRM. The layers of sonic abstractions, glitches, tones and texture are a great example of Rehberg’s musical signature, despite being from two different concerts (each given for the GRM, each time as part of the Présences électronique festival in 2009, then in 2016) and the sound achieved using different instruments (via laptop then using modular synthesis). This release is an excellent tribute to an immense talent, and a figure who has left an indelible mark on boundary-pushing music.
