Nothus returns with his first solo release on his very own XCPT label since its inception in 2016, zeroing in on a slower and darker sound than his last EP, Xtreme Ratio, in 2021. ‘Kerala Terror Squad’ takes the centre stage, with a downtempo selection of shifting breakcore beats, surging bass, and a stormy atmosphere playing out the tension of a stealth mission. Pushlock pushes the tempo up for a high octane remix, operating heavy beat weaponry with gnashing breaks and synths electrifying like tasers. Elsewhere, chains of booming kicks and sirens drift on ‘St00r1s’ and voices swarm on ‘Love Letter’.
