Los Angeles’ Budgie returns with the second Holy Ghost Zone offering on his own imprint of the very same name. Culled largely from sessions started alongside Kanye and the Sunday Service choir in Wyoming, this sprawling grab bag (much like its predecessor) owes itself equally to hip-hop, soul, and classic gospel music. However, the subtle flourishes outside the margins keep things especially interesting. Pitched up vocal lines on tracks ‘Hold On’ and ‘Heal The Land’ recall Burial and the overcaffeinated pep of hyperpop respectfully.
