Malta’s Sound Synthesis returns to the Orbital Mechanics imprint for the fourth entry in his running series of Orbital EPs entitled Orbital 104. Like his prior OM efforts, this EP sees Sound Synthesis mostly working within the electro and acid sphere, kicking up digital dust with his thrilling sound design. The vocoder effect on ‘FH Machines’ turns the chops into something nearly demonic as they dart around some burly snares and 303-esque lines, while the B side’s ‘Perpetual Motion’ goes nearly progressive as it reaches for the horizon while drawing from a similar palette.
