The late 1970’s was a prolific time for Sun Ra and his various configurations, as the free jazz explorer released well over twenty different full lengths in the years between 1977-1980. Two of the more significant works of the era were the 1978 live album Disco 3000 and 1979 studio effort Sleeping Beauty. Both of these records (like most of Sun Ra’s music of the period) were concerned with human consciousness and our connection to the universe beyond Earth. Out on a special limited edition 7” via Art Yard, these two massive tracks are rightfully paired together for the very first time.
