Following his expansive The Symbols compilation in 2021, Stian Gjevik returns to WeMe for another record of high flying, electro-tinged tracks under his EOD name. While the title might imply a sense of confusion, VOR TEX homes in on a sweeter and more uplifting sound, highlighted by tracks like ‘MAUCIOLE’ with its whimsical nature evoking blue skies and grassy plains, or the woozy and idyllic ‘BWARBLER2’, swaying and strolling with an organ solo like a babbling brook flowing in. Elsewhere, the chirping bass of ‘LAZAG’ verges on acidic territory, and ‘URTENLET’ adds slight tension with its pulsating rhythms.
