Originally released as an edited version in the fall of 1993 as the Betrayal LP, the Berlin label I Shall Sing Until My Land Is Free (whose name itself is taken from a Muslimgauze song off Izlamic Songs) is issuing the actual record Muslimgauze intended to make for the very first time on vinyl. Collected from a cassette copy of the original DAT tapes, it's a small miracle this edition exists at all. The sound of Shekel Of Israeli Occupation is perhaps best exemplified by the explorative centerpiece ‘Drugsherpa.’ The track progresses slowly from desert folk to something like early dub techno to even more alien throughout its 20 minute runtime. As always, these Muslimgauze reissues are limited and go very quick, so act fast.
