NTS regular and CURL collective member Coby Sey channels visceral feelings through his wordplay on his debut album. At times sly and steely with a poison tongue, at others screaming mantras at full force, Sey’s vocals take centre stage throughout the record, amidst torn surges of guttural noise, drifting minimal palettes, and lacerating beats soundtracking calls to community action and his dissatisfaction with the world. A whirlwind of voices portray differences in communication on ‘Dial Square (Confront)’, while the monstrous ‘Response’ pits seemingly infinite expressions of saxophones against each other.
