Orbital’s first soundtrack work in a decade is a hyper ride through sounds and styles. The Pentaverate follows a secret society who shapes the world’s future, and the [bad actors] who throw it into chaos, illuminated by the duo’s slippery and squeaky electronics smashing together bells and brass, ominous choirs and vintage sci fi synths, shredding guitars and enthusiastic techno beats. Their 1996 single ‘The Box’ plays a key role as the show’s main theme, twisted into tense and excited passages where hopeful, grand arrangements turn to shady deals.
