Following his 2020 album The Spectral Isle, Field Lines Cartographer returns to Castles in Space for a gargantuan album diving deep into the subconscious. Dreamtides was inspired by a dream Mark Burford had, its premise forgotten but its impact unshakeable. The album plays out like a sonic dream journal, containing picturesque snapshots of impossible landscapes illustrated by the patient meditations of slow moving synth textures. From the ominous ‘Sable Bay With Stars’ to the captivating ‘Rhomboid Storm Clouds’, Burford conjures an almost tangible dream world with trickling water and mysterious susurrations.
