The Jaffa Kid’s selftitled debut on Cold Blow is one of numerous releases of his immensely prolific run in 2022, and certainly a highlight in the producer’s discography as he explores different corners in the techno and braindance lexicon. ‘Itled’ begins with a pounding beat, furious rave sounds ending in subtle techno whalesong. Morse code-esque signals repeat throughout ‘Rainbow Eyes’, with an onslaught of hi hats like torrential rain, and lowkey, breathy beats evolving into thunderclaps. The blown out ‘Krout’ crushes with currents of darting arpeggios, and ‘Dolt’ ends with serene, starlit synths.
