Valentina Magaletti has been credited since the early 2000s for her widely acclaimed drum and percussion work, having worked with the likes of Shit and Shine, Raime, Nicolas Jaar and Lafawndah, but it was only in 2020 she forged her own path with her debut album. Now rereleased by bié Records, A Queer Anthology of Drums explores with a DIY spirit pretty much every object that can be hit, struck, or pounded on. The hammers of fluttering piano keys coalesce on ‘She/Her/Gone’, while many shades of percussion roam free on the title track.
