Following their Helios/Hind LP for Hood Faire in 2021, The Universal Veil return with a similarly crafted abstract Tape Set. Composed of Hood Faire co-owners Sam McLoughlin and David Chatton Barker (who also runs Folklore Tapes), The Universal Veil gave an in-store performance at SK1 Records with ritual instruments and a deck of tape machines, resulting in an unedited and formless exploration of sound. Primal rhythms and sparse melodies are interspersed with sonic artefacts, mangled by metallic whines and hiss, while the musique concrète of Side B ends in a blissful arrangement of bells and percussion.
