After the last double drop in 2020, Skee Mask’s Ilian Skee Series returns to the dancefloor on ISS008, creating an instant contrast with its minimalist cousin ISS007 as soon as the needle drops. ‘A14 vs CB’ starts with a skewed electro beat, soon accreting a furious mass of overdriven club rhythms as filtered whips slice through the air, and metallic wails push the tension. Dizzying breakbeats are chopped up in the blender on ‘Wiz’, hints of hand drums rattling behind the madness. Skee Mask provides a selection of tracks so rough they light fires with their friction.
