Bruce Haack
The Electric Lucifer
Telephone Explosion
Catalogue Number
Release Date
January 1, 2007

Telephone Explosion lovingly reissue Bruce Haack’s 1970 electronic opus ‘The Electric Lucifer’, which was critically acclaimed on release but has nonetheless not been readily available to fans in the intervening years. Veering between wide-eyed hippie optimism and stranger new-age ramblings, the album has too many high points to choose from, but, if pushed, one might look towards the preaching vocals and deranged synths of ‘Cherubic Hymn’ or the cascading Moog squelches which make up ‘Super Nova’. With the original album packaged next to an extensive interview with Haack on Canadian Radio, the reissue is an inviting and substantial tipping of the hat to this excellent record.
