German composer Nils Frahm has announced a major reissue campaign for some of his earliest and rarest work via his own LEITER imprint. Incorporating long out-of-print material, bonus tracks, and previously unreleased recordings, these releases give us a rare look into Frahm’s auspicious beginnings. The first reissue entitled Durton pairs 2006’s digital-only My First EP with some other period-specific rarities. A pun on the German term “Dur Ton” (or major note), it is named after Frahm’s first Berlin studio, making it an excellent entry point into this vital operation.
