Pioneering minimal techno years before it's current, mainstream recognition was Wolfgang Voigt under his Mike Ink / Studio 1 guises. He also is an essential part of the infrastructure of the mighty Kompakt records. This latest release, has Voigt returning slightly to the more austere rhythms of, say, 'Polka Trax' (released on Warp records, click ), but with some of the more eccentric composition that featured on his 'Freiland Klaviermusik' for Profan records. Both tracks a study into the mechanics of techno with unsettling vocal treatments and militant drum arrangements. Unique stuff.
