From the Bristolian post-dubstep / bass-heavy electronic music circuit has emerged this intriguing and brilliant release on the fledgling Astro:Dynamics label. A split release between Vessel and El Kid, this is a wonderfully immersive record.

Vessel's portion interweaves field recordings, into disjointed techno/ house rhythms. The percussive swing is enough to keep you nod heading but restrained enough to get lost within the multi-layered soundscapes. El Kid's portion is far more emotive and subdued in comparison. Introducing himself with two beatless and heavily atmospheric piano, and some slo-house grooves for the closing chapter of the EP.
