Perko’s newly imprinted FELT label is christened by a set of mysterious untitled tracks from Civilistjävel!. Grouped together by a Swedish word for long nights of frost, Järnnätter (or “iron night”) features patient passages of minimal techno and eerie ambient tones. Partly inspired by early Swedish folk music, a sense of ancience wafts in the cold air that fills the sparseness of many tracks here, permeated with the tortured groans of unidentifiable creatures. Curious melodies wander through dark forests of tape hiss, saving the force for the very last moment where stomps shake the earth amidst soft ice crystal chimes.
