From Deewee, the eighth studio LP by Belgian noiseniks Soulwax, drops via Play It Again Sam. The fact that the whole of From Deewee was recorded in one take will only surprise you if you’re not aware that Soulwax are a group who are full of surprises. However, that certainly doesn’t make it any less impressive an achievement. It also gives From Deewee a great ebb and flow of the sort that is often lacking from electro-rock full-lengths. Three drummers - Sepultura’s Igor Cavalera, Turbowolf’s Blake Davies and Ipso Facto’s Victoria Smith - provide the rhythmic muscle, while Laima Leyton handles keys.
