The curious space Eluvium created in his debut album Lambent Material has remained a highlight in ambient and electronic music in the 20 years since. Now getting an anniversary remaster, these tracks shine once again with their glassy warmth. Gentle guitar strums and plucks dangle over 'Under The Water It Glowed', faded into memory while synth sirens rise wispily into red sky, a hard contrast to the layers of noise and effects on 'Zerthis Was A Shivering Human Image' plunging a simple two chord sequence into oceans of emotion, becoming more grazed by distortion yet never losing its luminous harmony.
