Nurse with Wound affiliate David Tibet may well be the only permanent member of occult-Brit-rockers Current 93, but the band's output spans many decades and genres amid a constantly rotating line up of guest performers. Originally released back in 2011, Honeysuckle Aeons incorporates a theremin into the magical mix of the C93 formula, and on tracks like ‘Sunflower’ the typically theatrical vocal works really strike a chord (no pun intended). ‘Cuckoo’ and ‘Lily’ seem to take influence from Middle Eastern musical structures, whilst the palpable sense of English mysticism is apparent across the album in the form of Tibet’s sorrowful lyrics.
