Debuting with a playfully scattershot sound informed by studies in jazz, pop, and contemporary classical, London-based artist Nicholas Worrall continues his idiosyncratic path as Wordcolour with an extended EP featuring reworks from DJ Python, Djrum and Matmos affiliate The Soft Pink Truth. The single in question, ‘Bluster,’ is a stunning continuation of Worrall’s wide-eyed electronica, but the remixes don’t disappoint in honouring Wordcolour’s eclecticism. The Soft Pink Truth locks into a minimalist groove, while Djrum plays up the original’s sonic clutter with a drum and bass refinishing and DJ Python closes the set on a shimmering downtempo note.
