Canadian audiovisual artist Maylee Todd returns with her first album in five years, landing on Stones Throw Records for her most conceptual work yet. In a total reinvention of her artistic identity, she turns to the virtual world, singing through her digital avatar Maloo over woozy synth funk and R&B textures. Interspersed with dungeon synth-like interludes of quaint electronic explorations, these tracks capture the wonder of the digital age, glossed in silky harmonies, floating microbeats, and lyrics focussed on connection and creativity.
