After the success of the debut Deadboy EP, Well Rounded Records return to the fray with a seriously funky three-tracker by Brighton's Ultrasound.

"Heavy Roll" journeys back to the sound of early US House then adds Broken Beat informed live drum loops, flowing P-funk flavoured bassline and keys and arpeggiations from deep space. These are punctuated by vocal snatches from much-loved vocalist Robert Owens. In fact, the momentum of this tune is not dissimilar to his classic with David Morales 'I'll be your friend'. This track achieves a timeless appeal that casually transcends current trends - believe!

On the flip "Heavy Roll (Future Funky Re-rub)" strips the elements back revealing a harder-edged version. A mix of two halves, it's all about the weightless falsetto vocal drop which leads into a 2nd bass-line that absolutely kicks things onto another level. Original stuff indeed. Not to be forgot is last track "Hard Way" featuring thoughtful vocals over tuff Chicago-style drums alongside an unusual combo of deep chords and grimey bass.
