Cult-beloved experimental duo Woo continues their prodigious second act together with an album that bridges their ambient beginnings with modern studio flourishes. Brothers Mark and Clive Ives had a knack for gorgeous melodies even during Woo’s initial run in the ‘70s and ‘80s, but the duo’s emotive melodic approach is all the more stunning within the album’s gorgeously featherlight production. At times verging on free-form soundscapes and minimalist jazz in their merging of acoustic sounds with electronic flourishes, Paradise is an apt title for each track’s delicate escape into itself.
