Form Grows Rampant is the sole full-length from industrial icon Peter Christopherson’s Threshold HouseBoys Choir project, but the album more than earns a notable place of curiosity in the late artist’s decades-spanning career. Released as a soundtrack to a film by Christopherson documenting the religiously intense GinJae Vegetarian Festival in Thailand, Form radically distorts computer generated vocals to the exact tipping point between distantly familiar and sinisterly inhuman-sounding. With festival footage capturing extreme scenes of piercing and self-mutilation, Form makes for a difficult journey, but one that transfixes in its unnerving nature.
