London’s re:ni makes her debut on the Zenker Brothers’ coveted Ilian Tape label with an EP of lurching mutant techno entitled Revenge Body. Following the stirringly eclectic mix she recorded for Ilian Tape’s mix series last year, Revenge Body sees re:ni zero in on a more focused and overwhelming sound to great effect. Her sound design certainly pays tribute to the alien body on the 12”s stamp, especially the resonant echoes that plow across the title track and the closing ‘Spirits.’ Landing somewhere in the middleground between the meditative low end of Livity Sound's output and the tense percussion of Nervous Horizon / TSVI.
