Pulling from Maenads’ penchant for sparse yet entrancing production, Callers Spring connects with flashes of UK garage, dub, and techno like figures in a fog without fully latching to any one sound. The title track is a case-in-point, building into an understated frenzy before dropping into an ambient expanse in its final minute. Recommended by Wootton to be played on both “dancefloors and forest floors,” Callers Spring keeps things engrossingly minimalist for an ideal all-terrain listen.
