Targeted Individuals
After a run of EPs for labels like Natural Sciences and WARNING, Sansibar now drops a full-length that’s full of the tense, pensive electro of those earlier records. Targeted Individuals claims influence from the likes of Detroit In Effect, and the combination of thwacking drums and jackknife synth lines certainly demonstrates that link. However, Targeted Individuals also has a shifty and paranoid air about it, one that harks back to some of Warp’s 90s output.

Sans Musique
Sansibar deftly follows up his previous full length Targeted Individuals with an equally scintillating electro feast, this time for the Amsterdam based shellfish lovers, Kalahari Oyster Cult. Our man in Finland broadens the scope on Sans Musique with the tracks taking on a savoury flavour via some added breaks this time, the syncopated patterns added some additional seasoning to the rigid snares, 4x4 pads and synth bubblers we all know and love so well. Like umami for the ears, everything just sounds better with some msg rollers sprinkled on top.
